Help your kids become more self confident and overcome their fears in a safe, fun environment!
Whether they lack self confidence, are having trouble in school or simply can’t focus – a martial arts class gives your kids the positive change they need to be successful in life. Think your child can’t benefit from a martial arts class? Read on to find out more from parents who thought the same thing – until they enrolled their child in our life changing classes.
Let me tell you a little bit more about some of the things my program can help with
Most kids have trouble focusing on a task for more than a few seconds at a time. This problem is even more complex with iPads and electronics everywhere to distract them.
We teach your kids to focus by starting small. We don’t expect them to be able to focus on one task for an hour – we start by making them focus on one thing for less than a minute.
It may not seem like long, but in that time, they will be completely focused on the task at hand. Once they have learned the ability to really focus on one thing, it is much easier to scale their focus so they (and you too!) can enjoy longer periods of full-focus, both during class and at home.
Imagine a child who is able to completely focus on their homework or chores. It’s every parent’s dream.
Better at Taking Instructions
How many times have you been ready to pull your hair out because your child STILL hasn’t done the one thing you’ve asked them five times to do? If your answer is “never”, then we’d like some parenting tips from you!
This isn’t because your kids want to make you mad, they just don’t quite realize that the first time they are asked is the right time to do things.
In our classes, kids do everything the first time they are told, and before you ask, no, we don’t yell at or scare the children into doing anything.
It is simply a matter of all the children in the class getting an instruction and following it immediately. Your child, no matter how stubborn, will follow suit because they don’t want to be left out of what the group is doing.
Before long, this type of behavior becomes natural, and they start doing this at home too. I can’t tell you how many parents have made a point to thank me for helping them solve this exact problem.
Better Performance at School
Even as young as Kindergarten, parents worry about how their children perform in school, and as bad habits are allowed to continue, they become harder to correct.
After a bit of time in martial arts classes though, most children’s problems at school seem to disappear.
Since they have learned to focus, they pay more attention in class. With more self confidence, they feel more comfortable answering questions and participating in classroom discussions. Taking instructions better means no more “missed” or incomplete assignments.
It’s not uncommon for kids to receive a much improved report card with special praise from their teachers after enrolling in martial arts classes. How would that make you feel as a parent?
I’m sure some of you still have questions though, so I’m going to address some of the most commonly asked questions below:
Can girls do martial arts too, or is it just for boys?
While there are more boys than girls in my classes, there is definitely no shortage of girls either. Martial arts is a sport that can be enjoyed by children of all ages and genders, and you’d be surprised – some of the girls are even tougher than the boys!
Will martial arts make my child start to act violently?
Nope, not the way we teach it! We teach martial arts from a perspective of self defense and discipline. This means your children learn the techniques, but also the self restraint not to use it unless absolutely necessary.
In fact, we’ve even seen kids who are naturally aggressive participate in our classes and lose their aggressive edge after just a few sessions.
My child has bad experiences with team sports – should they try martial arts?
Definitely! The problem with team sports for some children, is that if they don’t perform up to a certain standard, their peers can become upset with them.
Martial arts isn’t like that. Whether your child is a natural athlete or not, they will take all classes at their own pace. There is no competition and no need to feel like they can’t stack up to the other children – they will be too busy focusing on their own progress.
Is my child the right age for martial arts?
Yes! You don’t even need to tell me their age first, the answer is still yes! Kids from the age of 5 can start taking advantage of martial arts classes, and the older they get, the more benefits they get out of learning martial arts. It’s never too soon to start.
Now, are you as excited as your child will be when you tell them you’ve enrolled them in martial arts classes?
